A Strong Signal for Fair and Accountable AI
We are very excited to share an important milestone for NiftyIP. We have been selected for funding by the Austrian Wirtschaftsservice (aws) as part of the AI Adoption program.
For us, this is much more than financial support. It is a strong signal that the challenges we are addressing are being recognized at an institutional level, and that the need for fair, transparent, and accountable AI systems is becoming increasingly relevant.
Building in the space of AI and intellectual property often means working ahead of clearly defined structures. Questions around ownership, training data, and the use of creative work are still evolving, both technically and legally. At NiftyIP, our focus has been on creating a technical foundation that allows these questions to be addressed in a more concrete and measurable way. Receiving support from aws reinforces our belief that this direction is not only necessary, but timely.
What makes this particularly meaningful is the alignment in vision. The idea that AI should not only be powerful, but also trustworthy and fair, is at the core of what we are building. Our work focuses on analyzing AI systems and outputs to detect potential use of human created content and styles, enabling use cases such as compliance, risk assessment, and, over time, fair monetization structures. This is not a short term challenge, but one that requires sustained effort, deep technical work, and strong collaboration with the broader ecosystem.
The support from aws gives us exactly that kind of momentum. It allows us to accelerate development, expand our capabilities, and continue building toward a system where AI operates with greater transparency. At the same time, it strengthens our position in conversations with partners, legal experts, and industry stakeholders. When a national funding institution backs a project like this, it sends a clear signal that the topic is moving into focus.
We also see this as a responsibility. Recognition at this level comes with the expectation to deliver real progress. The current AI landscape is still evolving rapidly, and many of the rules are being defined as we go. Our goal is to contribute to shaping this space by building infrastructure that makes AI usage more understandable, more traceable, and ultimately more fair.
This funding motivates us even further. It confirms that working toward a more balanced AI ecosystem, one in which creators, companies, and technology can coexist in a sustainable way, is not only relevant, but actively supported.
We are grateful for the trust placed in us and excited to continue building.
